Just to let you know if my Holidays' are great, here's a recap of the weeks happenings. And I hope yours was a merry one:
Sunday (Dec 21)
I started my day with going to hear mass at Hsinchu Cathedral! I didn't eat my breakfast in my room [sa dormitory] not because I'm not hungry, I just dont feel eating, besides my tummy is getting heavy everyday just by eating a lot of rice everyday. But suddenly, after the first mass at 9:30AM that ended up nearly 11:00AM, I feel a bit hungry so we [my constant companion sa church every sunday, a friend and a roomate] decided to eat at my favorite restaurant in Hsinchu and so far here in Tw. We order our fried rice and meatball soup, we didn't order the fried pasit or [pansit caton] since this would be enough for us. I found out that the soup is made out of beef bones underneath it, the owner showed it to us! It's so fun talking to the owner because she is fond with us being there always to eat at her little resto. After a while when we finished our meal she'd given us two oranges which we devoured everything. Awhile back when we arrived we were greeted by her smiles and offered to taste some of her personal food like a piece of fried ube and then after that a piece of fried camote. She even made jokes about having otot {fart} if you eat this afterwards, before she took out the fried root crop. =) We bade goodbyes to the ladies and went straight for our dormitory which is 15 minutes bus ride, then sleep (because gikan pa mi sa work gabie).Monday (Dec 22)
Just another ordirnary day for me eventhough it's Christmas time and the weather here in Taiwan is so cold. I guess the spirit of Christmas here is very very low here. The only one keeping it high are the Pinoys keeping our culture during christmas like Simbang gabi which I constantly attending at 4:30PM here in Chupei near my dormitory. I just came from my 1rst day shift work and after I had my breakfast, I just went up to my bed, surf and be lost in the cyberworld. Eventhough I lost my reality that Christmas is realy near already.
Nothing much happen this day, I came from work on my second day shift sched and I plan to wash my clothes later beacuse it is my day off tonight [actually night off, 'coz i work at night, don't you agree?] =) It's my eight simbang gabi this afternoon and I haven't have any absences to these mass so far this years' Mesa de'Gallo.
It's very freaky today. I don't feel a thing. am I a freak? or am I just so insensitive to the reality that it is already Christmas tonight! I guess I just develop this feeling to make a wall about it so that I won't feel any loneliness to the fact that I am away from my family celebrating the season with lots of foods in the table while I am here in my dormitory forecasting that I might be alone and in my bed tonight and probably just sleep. This morning we went out near the market to buy a sack of rice of 18 kilos which cost 630NT$ for our consumption in our room. We haven't prepared any celebration though for tonight and we decided to have it nalang in the new years' to come. Later after the Mesa de'Gallo I went out alone past the Carrefour department store in Chupei and arrive at the goverment building where they had the biggest Christmas Tree in the area. I went there relieve the emptiness inside, to find the spirit of christmass. The thought and wonder about seeing a tall christmas tree has filled my emptiness inside. I saw some taiwanese around, {just a few though} taking pictures at the foot of the tree, some families, and children around. Though chinese people don't really celebrate christmas but they observe this day as a holiday season. Just read on my previous post about this day.
Every one in the dormitory who had partyd and have fun last night realy have fun, while the rest of us just sleep the night away. =( but that doesn't matter at all at least I have completed my nine days novena for the baby Jesus. I guess it's not about giving gifts (the material things), not about partying or having foods but it's about celebrating the birth of the Savior. I guess I just celebrated it with prayers. Today I hear my days of obligation to go to mass and then after that I ate in that favorite resto again having fried rice and meatball soup. =) In the afternoon, my pal Louie from the other company (which is my college classmate) invited me to have bonding and decided to go to a nearby pinoy store and have a Karaoke. We bought 6-pack beer for us and one chips for the taste. I had fun entering the place seeing Wowowie on the stores tube while all eyes on it. After the shows game, its time for the singing part. hehehe. And it ended up that I went to my first day shift work without sleep.
Friday (Dec 26)
Because i don't have sleep the other day and went to work, I just went to my bed directly to sleep and didnt eat my breakfast when I came at the dormitory 'coz I had eaten already at 6:00AM, I guess I'm still full. I still have my second night work tonight so I just take a rest to gained my strenght back.
Saturday (Dec 27)
Coming from work from last night was so tiring this day. I was so busy that I have only 30 minutes break and was not able to have another break to take a nap. Damned this wafer, I hated verifying it (I am talking to my work last night)!!! I was trying to get a datalog for this wafer and trying to run the fail dies but I kept reloading the program and starting the prober again! Besides, this is tested in the Quartes platform so I'm so anxious to really test any devices here becuase I'm not so knowledgeable in the Unix form of environment tester. I ended it up doing it for 5 hours! Good thing this testers' status is idle therefore I can use this no matter how many hours I can be finished. But all I had accomplished was testing the pass dies, the most important data to acquire here is the fail dies, damn! So, I quit this time and accept my failure and pass this verification request to my other team on the next shift and continued making my report of shift to send to our customer. Later in the morning here in our dormitory, I fogot that today is my re-med schedule so I went to the office and see my coordinator to ask what time we will be going to the hospital, but luckily she just gave me a stool contianer and have it here and later pass it at 10:00AM. Haha! I fell asleep in my bed, and at 10 I was called called in my room and was ask about my stool but I havent yet, so I hurriedly went to the CR to produce one, hehe, because the hospitals' rep is still waiting for my stool! I hope this time my stool will pass! Just by having re-med and only stool is needed, I had cashed out 600NT$.
So there, I just made a very informative days of myself. How about yours? So, this coming week is my New Years week, i don't know if I can keep up another week... heheh.. that would be another post. Who knows. =)
